Literature: Goethe, Schiller, Novalis …

… and many other notable men of letters lived and worked in or around Dresden, including Theodor Körner,
Ludwig Tieck, E.T.A. Hoffmann, Hans Christian Andersen, Joseph Kraszewski, Franz Kafka and Victor Klemperer.
Let’s follow their traces on a two-hour walking tour of the city centre. A coach tour takes us
to city districts such as Weißer Hirsch, where Gerhard Hauptmann said his famous words about
the Dresden inferno: “He who has lost the ability to cry will cry again at the sight
of the fall of Dresden.” The famous author Erich Kästner said about his destroyed home town:
“… Yes, Dresden used to be a wonderful city…” It may well be that you, after seeing Dresden,
will add “… and has become one again!”

Tip: A visit to the Karl May Museum in Radebeul is sure to bring the adventurer out in you.
